About us page
Hey Y'all,
I'm Bam. I'm the owner and founder of RTR Rattery. I made it back in 2012©. We started back in West Virginia. And moved state to Ohio about 7 years ago. We are a small hobby breeder. I breed for the best Temperament and health I can. And this takes time. Alot of time. We name and form bonds with every single rats we have. They are treated like family. So, breesing is not just all they are here for. They're cages are right in my living room. We also allow them to have free roam for so many hours a day. So that way they are not caged all the time. Which I don't like to be honest. I feel as if they should be able to have that free time to get energy out.
We take our time and let our females grow until they are around 6-7 months old. We sometimes wait even longer then that until they are bred. We take our time with them. Let them grow some. We try to make sure they know what love is. And treated like babies. Sometimes I'm told I over feed because they are always so fat. But, why can't we spoil them. They are after all our fur babies.
Our rats are housed in Double Nation critter cages. With bins, for bedding. Yes I use bedding. I use the big bag at tractor supply for only $7. Has no dust. And last a very long time.
Our rats are feed rat blocks with a mix of fruits and veggies. I like mixing things up and give them dog food(puppy chow/pride puppy formula) every so often. Along with a nut mix, sunflower seeds, yogurt, baby snacks and yes they do get some human foods that I cook for dinner. As long as it's not harmful to them than they get it. My rats are so spoiled they get bottled water. Never water from the sink.
Like I have stated I do my best to keep them as healthy as I can.
This might just be a hobby for others. But, I put so much hard work into this. I really do try to please my adopters. Here are a few things adopters have said about us or to us about our rats. Just to show that we aim to please.
